One of approximately 6 known early proofs from Prasse's edition, an early impression before the cleaning of the plate and the heavy oxidation along the lower edge of the plate, aside from the published edition of 50 printed in the early 1950s from Prasse's edition B. Signed, titled and dated "1911" in pencil, lower margin. With the artist's estate ink stamp and work number "G E No. 48" in pencil, lower right. A brilliant, richly-inked impression of this extremely scarce, early proof, with very crisp, inky plate edges. Prasse E 41.
