Ludins was a WPA muralist, printmaker, and author-illustrator. She was born in Russia and emigrated to the Bronx with her family in 1904. Ludins attended Columbia's Teachers College, completing her Teacher of Fine Arts Master's degree in 1925. She lived and taught at the Chelsea Hotel in the last part of her life in the 1950s.
