Additional Details

With the confluence of events during the last few months of 1968, including the success of Apollo 7 and mounting spy evidence that the Russian were planning a lunar flight, NASA changed the flight planning for Apollo 8 to a lunar orbital mission. Mission planners rushed to assemble all navigational data required, such as the initial basis lunar charts and projected launch date orbital maps. This binder contains charts used and preserved from that historic era.
