California artist Lundeburg pioneered a style of Surrealism called Subjective Classicism or Post-Surrealism. The approach relies on juxtaposing reality and abstraction, relying on symbolism to convey meaning, rather than dream imagery. Throughout her long career, Lundeberg exhibited her work internationally. The L.A. County Museum, Smithsonian, and important private collections contain examples.
