Engraving, after 1500. 227x168 mm; 9x6 3/4 inches. Stag watermark. Trimmed on the plate mark. A very good impression of this extremely scarce engraving.
Mair's original engraving of this subject is known in only several impressions, each of which has been hand colored as was the artist's practice. In this very close, possibly contemporaneous imitation of Mair's engraving, the shading varies slightly throughout the image, notably on the left base front of the arched doorway and on the rear left leg of the man.
