From 1970-90 The Malcolm Grear Studio was the sole designer for New York's Guggenheim museum. Grear himself states that the concept for this posters came about when he saw one of Richard Hamilton's paintings for the Wright-designed museum. Originally a set of four (red, yellow, blue and green) the image reappears on much of the Guggenheim's items. The Grear studio is also known for their role designing the medals, pictograms and the hand-held torch for the Atlanta Olympic Games.
