Condition A / A-: minor creases in image.
We have no biographical information on Manfred Reiss, although one can guess from his name that he emigrated from Germany. What is certain, however, is that in the late forties and early fifties, he was one of the most prolific British poster designers. Many of his creations were reproduced in the International Poster Annuals, a selection of the best in international poster designs from this period . His major client was the Post Office Savings Bank. Reiss' posters are always cleanly designed and easy to understand, often composed of simple drawings with a photomontage or simple photographed elements. This poster is a clever play between word and image-part of the oversized key is the savings book, and the tag delivers the message: the key to prosperity!
