MANN, HEINRICH. Two Autograph Letters Signed, each to an unnamed recipient ("Dear Madam"), in German. The first, sending thanks, pointing out that he expressed a liberal view in his novel, The Little Town, complaining that people either misunderstand or pay no attention to the content of books, and mentioning a recent opportunity to contribute to Pan. 2 pages, small 8vo, written on the first and terminal pages of a folded sheet. The second, reporting that he is encountering difficulties and that he would nevertheless do his best. 1/2 page, small 8vo, with integral blank; two holes punched in left margin.
