Marín (1942-2007) was born in Spain where he trained as a bullfighter in his teens. After traveling to London in 1962, where he worked with Henry Moore, Marín moved to New York in 1964, where he focused especially on creating scupltures inspired by and slavishly imitating the work of Alexander Calder. In 1970, Marín had his first solo exhibition at the Alan Brown Gallery, Scarsdale.
