Patent of nobility in favor of Don Juan Justo de Otto y Benisia of Madrid. illuminated calligraphic manuscript in spanish, written in roman hands in brown and red ink, 20 lines, recto and verso, on vellum. with double-page opening in colors and gold showing the arms of the grantee (left) and address to king philip v of spain (right, with sealed paper heading at top); 5 headings in gold over intricate floral penwork in red and 8 large initials in gold similarly decorated. [12] leaves, ruled in red throughout and with floral border on each text page. 300x207 mm, contemporary red velvet over pasteboard with remnants of silk ties, covers rubbed, spine and cover edges worn; contents loose in binding but clean.
