Additional Details

Choirbook containing the day hours of the Divine Office for Carmelite use, executed entirely with stencils, a choice example of a curious development in the history of book production. By the 16th century stencilling was widely used in the making of playing cards and popular prints; in the 17th and 18th centuries the technique was further applied to the copying of liturgical books.
