(MANUSCRIPT.) Illuminated Book of Hours in Latin and French on vellum, written in gothic script in brownish-black ink, 15 lines (except Calendar in 16), recto and verso. with four (of five?) miniatures within full-page borders in colors and gold; and numerous two- and three-line initials in gold on blue ground with penwork decoration in white. 99 (of 100?) leaves. 156x112 mm, 16th-century blind-stamped calf with arabesque center- and cornerpieces on covers, spine ends worn, joints cracked, cords intact, ties lacking; varying marginal soiling, miniatures trimmed and inlaid to size affecting periphery of borders, with text on verso rubbed, all but the last misbound as noted below. Contemporary ownership inscription of Toussaint Delhoine(?) on front pastedown; calligraphic inscriptions and signatures of Alais Alemande, one dated 1558, including verse admonitions for the return of book to her on rear endleaf.
