Mysterios Gloriosos y Dolorosos de la Santissima Virgen Maria. manuscript in spanish on vellum, written in neat roman and italic hands in brown ink with headings in red. Title within hand-drawn border depicting the Instruments of the Passion and other motifs; decorated divisional headpieces and initials in gold on colored ground; additionally illustrated with fifteen mounted engravings of gospel scenes, 4 of them after subjects from Albrecht Dürer's Engraved Passion, the rest after unidentified Old Masters, all tinted with purple or similar shade wash, most meticulously accentuated in gold. [38] leaves. 127x92 mm, later red cloth over boards with enamel crucifix mounted on front cover and green cloth ties, few stains on covers, joints cracked, recased, endleaves renewed; occasional minor marginal soiling. Letterpress cutting "Collection de M. B. Kotschoubey" mounted diagonally on front pastedown; inscription on rear endleaf "To Miss Dorothy McCormick, from her Uncle, +D Card. Dougherty, Abp. of Phila., Ascenscion Thursday, 13 May 1926." (Brussels, 1676)

Collection of 15 prayers originally composed by Charles V of Spain, according to an introductory note. The manuscript is dedicated to Carlos de Gurrea Aragón y Borja (1634-92), ninth Duke of Villahermosa and Governor of the Spanish Netherlands from 1675 to 1677, with an encomiastic letter to him by the Discalced Carmelite Capellan Fray Andres de San Joseph dated Brussels, 3 November 1676.
