French text written in gothic hand in red, blue, and gold. 163x115 mm folded; some marginal soiling, light surface wear to scenes of the Virgin in border on first page. France, later 15th century

Additional Details

The miniature for January depicts a solitary noble feasting, and Aquarius as an angel; the one for June shows a harvester with a scythe, and a somewhat unrealistic crab representing Cancer. The borders incorporate scenes from the life of the Virgin, and figures of saints and bishops.
