From the inaugural dinner of the Maeght Foundation at La Colombe d'Or, Saint-Paul de Vence, July 28, 1964. Ex-collection Pierre-Jean Moatti, former Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, France. A vey good impression with strong colors.
The Moatti's, Pierre-Jean and Isabella, to whom the color lithograph is dedicated, were close friends of Chagall, who dedicated a number of color lithographs and drawings to them during the 1960s and 1970s. Mourlot 414.
