The old Greek city of Agrigento, on Sicily's southern coast boasts phenomenal ancient ruins. This view, of the Valley of the Temples, presents the remaining columns and pediment from the Temple of Castor and Pollux in the foreground, with the Temple of Concordia and the Temple of Juno in the background. Nizzoli was an architect by training, but was also active in the fields of textile, graphic and industrial design. For years, he worked for Olivetti, for whom he designed memorable machines, posters and even buildings. He was a bold artist with a strong sense of composition, and many of his poster designs bear traces of his modernist aesthetic. Travel Italia p. 132, Manifesta 186, Tourism 141.
