Group of 4 vintage prints from Letchworth Village. Warm-toned silver prints with the applied thin black border, the images measuring 9 1/4x13 1/4 inches (23.5x33.6 cm.), and the reverse, and 8x13 inches (20.3x33 cm.), two of the mounts 14x18 inches (35.5x45.7 cm.), and two slightly smaller, each with Bourke-White's signature, in pencil, on mount recto, and her hand stamp and a numeric notation, in pencil, on mount verso. 1932

Additional Details

Located in the hamlet of Thiells, Rockland County, NY, Letchworth Village was established in 1911 as an institution to care for individuals with developmental disabilities, and remained open until 1996. In 1932, Bourke-White was commissioned by board member Mary Harriman to document the village and its residents.
