MARILYN MONROE
Internal memo from Frank H. Ferguson regarding objections to Marilyn attending "the President's Ball" -- JFK's birthday party. May 11, 1962.
1 page, 5 1/2x8 1/2 inches. Signed by Ferguson with his first initial and with a note in his hand at the bottom of the memo, writing that Peter Levathes has asked him to delay sending a letter to Mickey Rudin on the matter. Holes punched in the top margin.

Levathes was the executive producer of Something's Got to Give (1962) and faced daily conflicts with Marilyn over her illnesses and absences from the set of the film. Thankfully, she did attend JFK's birthday ball over his objections and gave the most memorable rendition of Happy Birthday of all time. Monroe was dropped from the film and later rehired, but died before it could be completed.
