One of the great Italian tourist poster designers, Puppo began his work in the 1930s, and continued well into the 1950s. Although all of his work reflects progressive design principles, his earlier posters are almost avant-garde in their design, featuring Art Deco graphics, and dramatic (almost cinematic) angles. Sestriere is one of the more popular Italian ski resorts, and is situated near Turin, not far from the French border.
