Engraving, circa 1480-90. 162x154 mm; 6 3/8x6 1/4 inches. Bull's head watermark (similar to Briquet 15154, which dates to Colmar, 1478). Ex-collection Andreas Boerner (?) (Lugt 68, verso). Trimmed between the plate mark and the border line, with small to thread margins outside the border line, expertly repaired horizontal tear upper right above the animals' heads in the wall. A very good, evenly printed impression of this scarce print.
Lehrs indicates only around 40 impressions known of the current work. We find only 6 impressions listed in North American public collections. Bartsch 5; Lehrs 4.
