MAURIZIO CATTELAN and PIERPAOLO FERRARI
The End.

Polyurethane foam multiple finished with Guflac, 2014. 600x360x220 mm; 23 1/4x14x8 3/4 inches. Edition of 1000. Numbered "805" in felt tip pen and black ink on the certificate. Published by Gufram Multipli, Barolo, Italy, and Toiletpaper Magazine.

The Italian modern furniture company Gufram created this chair with Cattelan and Pierpaolo in order to declare the end of interior design. The move is a tongue-in-cheek statement responding to criticism that Gufram represents "anti-design." Toiletpaper writes that they, "as an act of final resistance, made a tombstone that can be used as a seat with a grotesque irony."
