A poster, printed in France, designed by a German artist, advertising, in German, a movie theatre in a town near the Belgian border. As the German army occupied Cambrai in 1917 it would seem the local businessmen began marketing to the foreign force. More than just a geopolitical curiosity, this poster has artistic significance as a superb Art Deco image, years before that style became popular.
