Drypoint, roulette and punch-work on heavy cream wove paper, 1920. 265x206 mm; 10 1/2x8 1/4 inches, full margins. One of only several artist's proofs. Signed, dated and inscribed "Probedruck" in pencil, lower margin. A superb, dark and richly-inked impression of this very scarce print.
This impression printed significantly darker and with more tone than the impression illustrated in Krüger, who notes that only a few impressions of this print were made for the publisher Fritz Gurlitt, Berlin, but that there was no published edition; he cites impressions in the Kunsthalle Bremen and the Baltimore Museum of Art. Krüger 120.
