Founded in 1934, when the South African Government bought up an existing airline, South African Airways originally served Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. Here, a sleek modern all-metal Junkers JU-52 is flying over a covered wagon, whose passengers are amazed at how slow, rough and antiquated their conveyance in compared to the airplane. Ullman is known to have designed several other posters, one for Lufthansa, also featuring a JU-52, and another promoting tourism in South Africa.
