This poster is somewhat of an anomaly, as if the artist didn't sign it because he was embarrassed that the image was so clumsy, or he simply wasn't in the habit of signing his work. That said, the poster is very cleverly conceived with both progressive construction and design. The dynamic of the image revolves around the strong diagonal (created by the woman and the man behind her), and the hint of speed created by her swinging handbag, dangling from an unseen arm outside the frame. The treatment of the woman herself is very elaborate, both in the cut-out technique with clever use of outlining, and the color scheme. Curiously the vibrant contrast between the gray background and the bold, eye-catching colors of the woman's outfit succeeds in downplaying the store itself. It is unclear from the poster exactly what Zanaboni was selling. Hopefully all of Milan already knew!
