Hand-colored engraved frontispiece portrait of Mercator, hand-colored sectional titles, 60 (of 73) hand-colored maps, all double-page except for one. Folio, 390x275 mm, early calf, well worn, lacking the ties; title-page remargined, other repairs to scattered margins throughout, first two parts (Galliae and Belgii) quite toned and with scattered major staining, Zeelandia map defective from arsenic based coloring (scattered other maps on the verge), maps in third part (Germaniae) with top margins trimmed close to neat lines, other scattered defects.
