Additional Details

"Though this map by Hondius is based on two earlier maps, those of White 1590 and Le Moyne 1591, subsequent cartographers usually followed this work rather than earlier maps. It thus became the most important type map of the region until the Ogilby-Moxon 'Discription of Carolina' ca. 1672 and its influence, both direct and indirect, extends into the middle of the eighteenth century"--Cumming 26.
