First published in 1698 as Sylloge physico-medicinalium casuum incantationi vulgo adscribi solitorum, a collection of 60 case histories involving the use of incantations. "To his sixty cases Mercklin added cures for witchcraft, including an amulet for insane love, a balsam against all sorcery, candles against all magic diseases, anti-magical and astral herbs, and a sympathetic unguent which was to be prepared under certain specific constellations"--Thorndike VIII, 533.
