louise Walker Defenbacher followed her grandfather's pasion for art. She studied at Smith College, the Sorbonne, l'Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris, and the Minneapolis School of Art. She applied her art training, cataloging the TB Walker Collection, leading to the foirmation of the Walker Art Center. She served on the board of the walker Art Center for thirty years. This painting by Mervin Jules is a fine example of his social-protest work. Another social-protest painting by Jules was sold at Swann September 17, 2020 setting a world record value at auction.
