A representation of the North American northeast coast at a time when very little detailed knowledge of the area existed. Very close in comparison to Cornelis Wytfliet's map of a year earlier, this model remained the most accurate of the region until the maps of Joannes de Laet were brought out in 1630. Norumbega was a legendary settlement in New England, appearing on many maps throughout the sixteenth century. Burden 118.
