An atmospheric, nocturnal, serene, Art Deco image of the Wat Pho temple. Wening was a Swiss artist, sculptor, illustrator and designer who moved to Southeast Asia in 1919. He became the court sculptor for the King of Siam, King Vajiravudh, a position he held until 1929. Among his other graphic works were posters he designed for the Zurich Zoo. On June 23, 1939, the country of Siam was renamed Thailand. Rare.
