To promote the wares of this toy store the artist presents an enthusiastic clown leading a donkey pulling a cart full of toys; a French version of Santa Claus! This poster was so beloved it was printed at least twice. Curiously, the other known printing (which is identical except for the "1903") was printed at the same address, but with a company of a different name, Romanet, suggesting that the company was taken over and renamed.
