Cascella (1892-1989) was an Italian mid-century artist. Primarily known for his oil paintings and watercolors, he also worked in ceramics, lithography and textiles. He exhibited regularly at the Venice Biennale from 1924 until 1942, and his works are in the collections of museums in Italy and throughout Europe, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume, Paris; and Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna, Rome. His most frequent subjects were the landscapes of Abruzzi and other locations in Italy, city scenes in London, Paris, New York, California and elsewhere, as well as still lifes and portraits.
