Additional Details

Mifflin (1744-1800) was a member of the first Continental Congress, where he served until his appointment as Washington's aide-de-camp in 1775, becoming major-general in the Continental Army in 1777. From 1782-84, he served as President of Congress and became a member of the Federal Convention in 1787.
