Provenance: From the collection of Dolores del Rio, given to her by the artist. It was acquired by Galerias La Granja (Mexico City) where it later became part of the Renato Leduc collection, then to the current owner.

Caption: "The Swedish actress who, in America has played roles of almost every country except Sweden. She is now very much of a personage in France having enacted, in the city of Paris, the exacting role of Madame Sans Gêne, Sardou's heroine of the Napoleonic era."
