Provenance: acquired directly from the artist; private collection, Maryland.

A very good impression of this very scarce print, made when the artist lived and worked in the German farming village Düren from 1968 to 1974. Thompson developed her innovative forms of abstraction in printmaking and wood construction while living in this small town between Cologne and Aachen. In 1973, Thompson had a one-person exhibition at the significant Neue Galerie in Aachen. Thompson's wood constructions from this period were recently exhibited in Against The Grain at the New Orleans Museum of Art, October 19, 2018 – March 31, 2019.
