This surreal drawing of a party scene was made when Mildred Thompson lived and worked in the Germany. Having studied at the Hamburg Academy for 1958 to 1961, Thompson returned to live and work in Germany from 1964 to 1974 after a brief New York period. Thompson's early practice remained figurative until 1970 when she began her abstract assemblage and printmaking.
