Artist's proof, with the background printed lighter, contrasting witht he dark birds, than in the published edition of 25 (there were also 25 printed in blue and black together). Signed, dated and inscribed "trial proof" in pencil, lower margin. A superb, well-inked impression of this extremely scarce woodcut. Lunn 55.
