Milton Glaser is one of the preeminent contemporary American graphic designers. He studied art at New York's Cooper Union and then in Italy, thanks to a Fulbright scholarship. In 1954, he and fellow designer Seymour Chwast founded the influential Push Pin Studio, where he served as president until 1974, when he opened his own studio. Glaser co-founded New York Magazine in 1968, designed typography, restaurants and supermarket installations. He was co-chairman of the Aspen Design Conference and also taught for a year at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He also designed the universally recognized and iconic "I love New York" logo, with a red heart instead of the word love. These posters, three advertising seasonal festival in the Catskills (1982, 1985 and 1988), one for the Hudson River Valley Summer Festival (1983) and the last for the Winter Festival / Saranca Lake / Lake Placed (1978) are embued with Glaser's inimitable good humor, fanciful designs and layout.
