Additional Details

The Apollo 11 crew was in the process of making navigational star sightings during the translunar coast at 25 hours into the mission to assist alignment of their guidance platform in preparation for the MCC2 burn. This was a SPS (Service Propulsion System) engine burn of approximately 3 seconds and changed Apollo 11's projected pericynthion of 175 nautical miles to approximately 60 nautical miles when "Columbia" and "Eagle" passed behind the Moon prior to going into lunar orbit.
