Mitty, Tillio & Ricaux were acrobats who made regular appearances in Paris' music halls. For their act, Colin has created a striking piece that emphasizes the movement, coordination, and choreography that the troika presented on stage. The sense of motion is created through the parallel of the legs of the two men, which lends the image an ascending dynamic completed by the swirling movement of the woman in the air. This is complemented overall by the splash of bright colors in their costumes. The shadows behind them augment the impression of speed and movement. One of the best circus posters in the history of the genre, and a stylistic precursor to comic book art. Printed as a stock poster, some copies exist with the imprint "Casino de Paris." Weill/Rennert no. 68, p. 70 (var).
