first edition of the author's first book. signed "henry" on the front blank. Moscovitch was just 15 and still a student at Herzliah High School in Montreal when his teacher, the poet Irving Layton, recognized him as a prodigy. Layton, who was also founding editor of Canada's important literary imprint Contact Press, urged his reluctant co-founders Louis Dudek and Raymond Souster to take a chance on publishing the talented student.
