Group of 6 color plates from the third of the three-volume series Die Quelle [The Source] 245x293 mm; 9 5/8x11 1/2 inches, margins with printer's crop marks, slightly trimmed and with some scattered marginal wear; versos with graphite and red pencil descriptions and numbers of the plate and the ink ownership stamps of dr. hans ankwicz von kleehoven, the Viennese historian. Moser's sumptuous decorations for flat surfaces, such as tapestries, wallpaper, and fabrics. "This variation on the total work of art concept is a splendid collections of pattern designs . . . Reflecting his interest in the graphic theories of Rudolf von Larisch, Moser plays with fore- and background space through the juxtaposition of form, color and pattern. The result is spatial tension that verges on optical illusion.
