Additional Details

Jeremiah Mosher (1755-1830) was a Minuteman who was severely wounded and captured in the assault on Quebec, and upon his release served as a sergeant in Jackson's Massachusetts Regiment. Additional wounds and general ill health later caused his departure from the service in 1780. He later served as a Brigadier General in the militia. In this letter to his commanding officer he describes his efforts to rejoin his regiment after a period of convalescence, announcing that he was "on the recovering way and expect that I shall be able soon to set out for camp. I should be glad to know if the baggage was gone from Kings Ferry to camp. . . ."
