The collected works of the visionary wilderness preservationist and Sierra Club founding president John Muir. Manuscript Edition set #391 of 750, with a holograph fragment in Muir's hand laid down on paper and tipped in to the front of Volume I. The fragment comes from Muir's 1881 Scribner's Monthly article "The Coniferous Forests of the Sierra Nevada." The set's interior is as close to its original state as even the great naturalist could have hoped for.
