Topics discussed and illustrated include contributions of Descartes (likely by way of LeGrand), Newton, Torricelli; with diagrams of the models of the solar system as posited by Ptolemy, Copernicus, and Brahe. Other areas of natural philosophy are also treated, including globes, cosmography, simple machines, the barometer, vacuum, constellations, armillary spheres, solar and lunar eclipses, magnets, the moon, fixed stars, sun, the senses, weather, fossils, fire, rivers, the five senses, and much more.
