Marvell, Andrew (1621-1678)
Miscellaneous Poems.

London: Printed [by Simon Miller?] for Robert Boulter, 1681.

First edition, folio, lacking engraved portrait; lacking the cancelled leaves that contained anti-Cromwellian verses; bound in later half calf, spine dry, rebacked; some toning to contents; 11 x 7 in.

Marvell's purported wife Mary Marvell [aka Mary Palmer], who may have been something more along the lines of a landlady, had this collection of poems published posthumously. It contains the first printed edition of To His Coy Mistress, and selections of Marvell's other poetical work that were only available in manuscript form during the poet's life.

Wing M-872; ESTC R23026; Heyward 126; Wither to Prior 536; Pforzheimer 671.
