Quarto in two parts consisting of 6 parchment leaves in total; first section headed with large polychrome painted coat of arms, text in fluid secretarial script with important text in gold ink, each leaf within a double rule; second section in two different hands; text conferring a degree in sacred philosophy and medicine from the University of Pisa, sanctioned by the church, "pronunciates, affirmantes, et declarantes Philos. & Medic. Excellentissimum esse Doctorem"; to a Joseph Olivi; the second document less formal with similar content and date; the two bound together in full contemporary gold-tooled sheepskin (somewhat rubbed, lacking fabric ties; structurally intact); 8 1/2 x 6 1/4 in.
