Photo Album Documenting a Trip to Mexico. [Chicago, 1906.] Oblong folio photo album consisting of 54 leaves containing approximately 88 silver nitrate and sepia-tone photographs of the group traveling by train, horse, boat, and other means to sites in Guanajuato, Mexico City, Cuernavaca, Tampico; documenting the people of those places; important architecture; local industries; and leisure activities like bullfighting, fishing, cockfighting and boating; bound in chipping limp boards covered in leather, with "Merchants Club Mexico 1906" tooled in gilt on front cover; photographs nicely preserved; 11 x 8 1/4 in. overall.

The Merchant's Club of Chicago made their trip to Mexico in mid-February, 1906. In addition to visiting the cities named above and seeing Mexican daily life and industries, they also held a formal meeting on February 18th in Mexico City. Speakers at that event included Alfred L. Baker Sr., Jose Castellot, Robert Mather, and Arthur Wheeler.
