Additional Details

It is doubtful that a complete set of original Mercury blueprints on paper exists today. In fact, one of the main reasons to create this microfilm set was to reduce the storage space that thousands of paper blueprints would require. Most paper blueprints have long been destroyed. Over the years, even microfilm sets of these blueprints have become increasingly difficult to locate. This is perhaps the most complete set of microfilm blueprints ever to come to public auction. Blueprints recorded on these microfilms include major structural components, windows, antenna, hatches, heat shield, and space suit equipment.
